Mrs. Cooper is an educator, curriculum writer, teacher, executive director of a NonProfit (Advance Learning for Tots INC), private tutor, and author. Growing up she was the family babysitter! Whenever her older cousins had something to do, they would always ask her to watch their children. She knew that she always had a passion for young children so she started her career as a childcare teacher in 2017. When she began she was an assistant for about two months, and shortly after she was moved up to lead teacher of a two year old classroom! While she was working in the childcare center she completed her bachelors of science degree in Birth-Kindergarten Teacher Education in 2019 from East Carolina University. The summer of that year she landed a job as a Kindergarten teacher! Though she teaches all subjects, she quickly realized that her favorite subject to teach was phonics. She found it magical to teach children how to read and loved the fact that she was good at it!
In her early years of teaching kindergarten (2020), she began taking graduate courses and graduated from Capella University with her Masters Degree in Education specializing in Curriculum & Instruction. Since then, she has created many opportunities in her community for young children to get a head start in phonemic awareness and phonics. She even created a phonics camp for young children to get a head start before entering Kindergarten! Mrs. Cooper loves to write curriculums, create workbooks and storybooks as she continues to teach sweet Kindergarten babies. Pretty soon Mrs. Cooper will be opening Advance Learning for Tots Academy.
